It is protocol to alert the director when your dancer will not be in class due to illness. Please contact the studio via email when your dancer will be absent. EEDancestudio@gmail.com
Excessive absenteeism hinders the progress and placement of your dancer. It can also affect the productivity of the entire group during choreography and rehearsals. In the event that that your dancer is mildly sick or injured- we ask that she attend class to to sit in on the lesson. Please use your judgement in these situations. When a dancer is sitting, she is expected to note the choreography; changes and additions. Taking notes is often a very helpful tool. Please do not interrupt the lesson to ask the teacher for special notes: wait for a break in the class and approach the instructor or in class assistant.
When Absent: Meet with a classmate 15 minutes prior to class- or get together outside of studio time (when possible) to learn what you missed. We often implement the tool of recording the new choreography, or sections of pieces that we have cleaned- Ask your classmate- or check the Private ATTICUS Facebook Page on the night you have missed.
ALL CLASSES ARE MANDATORY PARTICIPATION THE WEEK PRIOR TO A PERFORMANCE. STUDENTS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO PERFORM IF THEY MISS CLASS DURING THIS PERIOD. COMPETITION/PERFORMANCE FEES WILL NOT BE REFUNDED IF YOUR DANCER IS NOT ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE DUE UNEXCUSED ABSENCE.
